ROW80 – 2024 – Round 2 – Check-in 2 (April, 21st 2024)

Hi everyone!

Note: To keep posts short, I’ve made a Trello board with my goals for the year and beyond. Feel free to check it out if you want to know more about the bigger plan.

My word for the week is BUSY.

Between, the divorce proceedings, workto be bored, studies, family and friends, I didn’t get a chance  to get bored.

Not all of it was good, and there’s been some stress but the week ended better than it had started, so yay for progress.

A newly-found technical issue with my site forces me to add an extra work goal to ensure one of my students can have access to his online lessons in a different format. To be fair, I’ve been thinking for a while I needed to implement such a backup solution, so it’s not exactly a new goal, just one I hadn’t started working on yet.

Round Goals

As I feared, the repairs are still showing. Oh well, this was a test after all (I was originally going to cover the floor with something else, which can still be done anyway, so there was nothing to lose, really).

The tutorials varied a little but I guess I should have sanded a couple of times before repairing after all. Since I’ll have to oil again every 5 years, I’ll see what I decided around 2030 now. ^^; (Plus I still need to renovate the walls so it’s not like the room is actually finished or anything, just more comfy.)

At least it feels smoother so I think I reached my top goal, which was to stop getting splinters.

Yearly goals

I started sanding the stairs little by little. The most difficult part is the handrail. Because of its shape, I can’t use power tools. Thankfully, it’s also the part that requires the less work. But still it can be quite demanding and time-consuming, so baby steps, so to speak.

As I mentioned earlier, I also needed to add goals in the Online Courses section to make sure one student can follow the course he’s supposed to. I’m really glad I kept slots open this year, it proves to be a lifesaver when I need to add things, which I think always happen somehow.

From now on, I’ll try and keep that in mind, especially when setting goals for a new year.

How about you? What is your word for this week and why? Let me know in the comments. Take care!
