ROW80 – 2024 – Round 2 – Check-in 1 (April, 14th 2024)
Hi everyone!
Note: To keep posts short, I’ve made a Trello board with my goals for the year and beyond. Feel free to check it out if you want to know more about the bigger plan.
My word for the week is TENACIOUS.
Though my disease decided to kick in yesterday, probably because I had to make an extra effort to carry one of my kids home on Thursday, I found a way to keep working on my goals pretty much as planned.
Yesterday’s weather was perfect so I was determined not to let the pain win. I gave myself time to rest and then worked at my own pace, which means I spent most of the afternoon between the playroom and my bed but I will be able to oil the wooden floor today, as I had planned.
Other goals went well too because they fit in quite well in my breaks (most of the time, as long as I could sit or lie with laptop, I was fine).
I do hope the crisis stops ASAP though, as I know I can’t keep this up too long.
By the end of April
By the end of May
By the end of June
Round Goals
My focus has been on the wooden floor because I want my kids to enjoy their playroom ASAP. The results might not be perfect as it was a first and the repair paste only comes in light and dark, so I’m not sure how it will look after the oil has dried, but as long as they can play without getting splinters, I’ll be satisfied.

Yearly goals
I feel I have found the right balance between studies, work, renovation and family life so I’ll probably stick to this and the purple cells most likely won’t happen this year.
I did jot down a few ideas for my fantasy saga, but I don’t feel ready for any actual writing just yet.
On the other hand, now that I’ve established I can renovate a wooden floor on my own, I’d like to keep going and renovate the stairs and the floor on the second floor (at least the girls’ bedroom, ideally the bathroom and threshold too.
