ROW80 – 2024 – Round 1 – Check-in 11 (March, 24th 2024)

Hi everyone!

Note: To keep posts short, I’ve made a Trello board with my goals for the year and beyond. Feel free to check it out if you want to know more about the bigger plan.

My word for the week is HEALTH.

I don’t really want to dwell on it though, so let’s just say I rested and took care of myself, and I’m better now.

One good indicator is that I kept working on my goals steadily. Mostly the kind that does not require too much exertion, though I did make progress on decluttering too.

Round Goals

It should be time to wrap up but since March ends next Sunday, I’ll do that then.

Since the girls came back on Friday evening, we resumed our crafting today only. The painting went well and we even indulged in a little decoration with tape.

Sewing was supposed to become faster with a handheld machine but it wasn’t good enough so I’ll return it and we’ll sew by hand for now. If we feel the need, I may get a mini sewing machine but for now, good old thread and needles will have to do.

As a result, we haven’t finished the covers and pillows, but I think we can manage it by the end of the week if there isn’t too much to do after school.

  • Barbie House

Along with the sorting effort, I'll put everything we can use in the new workshop. And since it also has to be fun, we'll start making small pieces of furniture. And I'll take some photos to journal all this.

  • Saving

I'll try and save for future renovation work.

  • Bathroom

I will prepare a work area so as to be ready to finish those walls in June. (But maybe that can wait until April or May, so Round 2 ^^)

  • Reading

I'll focus on primary resources for my research and academic articles both for my research and courses.

  • Well-being

I'll meditate at least once a day and I'll practice mindfulness and gratitude in general. I'll rest when I need to and spend quality time with my loved ones.

Yearly goals

I must say I readjusted again, though I said last time I had found my pace. Truth is I have, but I needed to acknowledge I wouldn’t be catching up on some stuff, simply because my motivation was elsewhere.

For instance, though fixing issues with my websites is a rational priority, it’s not enjoyable and I end up postponing it all the time. And it’s hard to tell how much time I will need, so now my goal is to work on these issues. When and if I fix them all, it will be cause for celebration, but I might just end up paying an expert to do it too, especially for my business site.

How about you? What is your word for this week and why? Let me know in the comments. Take care!
