ROW80 – 2022 – Round 3 – Check-in 9 (September, 4th 2022)
Hi everyone!
Note: To keep posts short, I’ve made a Trello board with my goals for the year. Feel free to check it out if you want to know more about the bigger plan.
My word for the week is RESIGNATION.
I’m still grieving but I think I’m beginning to come to terms with the separation per se. What comes with it, especially the housing situation is a bit more scary and stressful.
I’d really like to keep the house but the budget alone is appalling when you’re a freelancer. And with COVID-19, business hasn’t exactly been thriving.
But since there’s not much I can do about it right now, I’ll try and not ruminate too much. What I need is to be proactive and do whatever I can to ensure my daughters and I have a nice roof over our heads, be it the current one or another.
Anyway, we’re in September now, so time to wrap up August goals and set new goals for the new month.
All things considered, I didn’t do too badly in August. Working on mindfulness certainly helped, though I don’t feel ready for the volunteering tasks right now.
As far as studying goes, I did not cover all I wanted but at least I got ahead on the semester while I was in hospital so I should be able to do both during the month. So next week, I’ll still have a couple of August goals to catch up on.
But to be honest, I have so much on my plates, most goals here feel qui secondary. So we’ll see what happens.

I can hear the “resignation” in your voice as I read your post. Maybe instead of resignation, it should be acceptance. Things are what they are and it sounds like you have reached a place where you have accepted that.
Best wishes with housing. I know what a big stress that is, but it will work out in the end.
Hang in there.
And my word for the week? Sitting here thinking about it, here’s a surprise – I’d choose “acceptance” for myself. I have accepted that once again, I have too much going on for this month, but come October, I’ll be in Kenya for two weeks, and I cannot wait.

Thanks for the support Chris, it means a lot! And I’m glad acceptance is your word of the week, it’s a really good word.
