ROW80 – 2020 – Round 4 – Check-in 3 (October, 25th 2020)
Hi everyone!
I’m checking in late because I was ill this weekend.
Last week had started well but it ended badly and we had to face the fact we still have too much stress in our lives and need to get rid of at least some of it.
The only source of stress we have any sort of control over right now is renovation, so we decided taking a short break was not enough. Since there’s no emergency anymore, we’re taking an indefinite break from heavy stuff. We might add finishing touches at some point if it feels like the right time, but we’re not planning any big project for now.
This means my goals are evolving a little: I’ll keep the parental suite as it’s pretty much done and we might do stuff there, and the insulation too since we’re having professionals do it.
Other than that, we’ll focus on sorting and decluttering as a way of clearing our house and minds while staying active.
And of course, I’ll focus mostly on my well-being goals so as to handle stress better.

Funny you should mention home renovation. Hubby and I are talking about redoing our kitchen this winter. So many decisions to make! I’d like to wait until after Christmas, but am anxious to start asap, thinking about doing it in stages, but Hubby is leaning towards hire a contractor to just do the whole thing at one time. So, I will probably be the one asking for help handling the stress!!
Have a great week!

I hope things work out well, whatever you decide to do!
Have a great week too, Chris! =D

We’re currently gearing up to do some DIY repairs. I haven’t ever done major renovations, but they are coming. Half of our home is a mobile home built in 1968, so it’s in need of some serious upgrading. We did have the roof and some plumbing professionally replaced (roof was an excellent decision; the plumbing turned into something of a nightmare that took well over a month to get resolved!).
May your experience be more like our roof!
And may this week be better for you and yours than the last!

Thank you so much, Shan! I hope the rest of your renovations go like your roof too!
