ROW80 – 2022 – Round 3 – Wrap-up (October, 2nd 2022)

Hi everyone!

Note: To keep posts short, I’ve made a Trello board with my goals for the year. Feel free to check it out if you want to know more about the bigger plan.

My word for the week is FLOW.

As I’m still pretty tired from COVID-19, I just went with the flow this week, adding a little vitamin C daily to feel a little more energetic.

I even went to see a movie on Monday!

Other than that, I just followed my routine, which means a little progress on some goals I’d already passed anyway.

For October, I think I’ll keep some “ON HOLD” goals just in case I get at them again, especially as I’ve been able to get a real head start on other goals. And I’m usually feeling more at peace too, so who knows?

Since I’ll be divorcing my husband next Round, I guess my goals will be pretty simple, and if I can write at all, that only will be a victory.

On a plus side, though I can’t exactly say I’m happy, I’m not unhappy or miserable anymore and I find I reconnect with joy and love. The idea of becoming a foster mom is also really helping as it gives me a sense of purpose.

And I might get a job at a university, though right now we’re having a hard time just scheduling the interview. We’ll see if that’s meant to be. ^^

Round Wrap-up

For obvious reasons, renovating was not so important anymore, though we will resume work on it, especially if we intend to sell. And if I can keep the house after all, we’ve agreed any on-going work would have to be completed somehow.

Writing was on and off. While at the hospital, I worked on 2 sleep stories and resumed working on my memoir, but since I’ve been out, nothing really writerly happened. Well, yesterday I did check some translation for Rotten and I revised and submitted a Sleep Story, but since it was October already, it wasn’t technically during the Round.

Other translations went well and I think it’s because working on mindfulness always help me somehow.

I also slowed down on work goals, focusing either on urgent or easy projects, that is the new English certification to get back in business and completing workbooks for Story Times or the Japanese initiation, as these are really finishing touches in the end. And I found out yesterday I can get a new certification for Japanese after all, though I might wait until I’ve completed my BA or at least all the proficiency courses.

New online courses will have to wait a little, I’m afraid. And considering I’ll only have an English certification, I might focus on English courses instead of Hanashimashou for a while.

And now for personal. Well unsurprisingly, getting separated and soon divorced hasn’t been easy. I’m still not fully recovered from the shock and I have to accept it’s going to take time before I actually feel better. Also not having to live with my future ex-husband anymore should help, though I do appreciate the possibility to take things slow and maybe keep the house in the end.

I did register for Japanese II and it’s been challenging but I won’t give that up. Of course, I realize I won’t pass with flying colors this time but I can settle for a simple PASS.

And of course I’ll keep working on my well-being as that is one of my priorities. I find it harder to do yoga lately but I do hope I can find my pace again for next Round (along with my appetite, which I’ve lost with COVID and haven’t really recovered yet, which means working out is not really possible for now). In the end, I reached over 70% of my yoga goal, so that’s still a PASS.

I’ll have new goals for Round 4 next weekend.

Hang in there. It does get better. Be prepared for some mutual friends to decide they prefer him. If that happens, you’ll make new ones who care more deeply for you, so try not to get too upset about it. I also had some admirers come out of the woodwork, but I felt it was better for me to take some time alone. It’s a tough journey at the start, but it’s also a worthwhile one.

Thanks Rae. I think most of our friends won’t choose side. At least they don’t look like they want to. But I’m also making new friends so that would be OK, I guess.
As for potential admirers, the last thing I’m interested in right now is dating, so They should be disappointed.
